Named after the date of its creation on the 1st April 1961, the 1461 shoe style has become iconic the world over.
This is the classic 3 eyelet shoe. The second style that Dr. Martens made. This unisex shoe was crafted for industry — and made rebellious by generations of non-conformists!
Today it’s worn as a symbol of durability and quality by individuals from all walks of life.
This 1461 style is finished in Crazy Horse leather, an amazingly rich, waxed, supple leather which produces a worn, distressed appearance.
Built to last, this shoe is made using one of the finest methods of construction, the Goodyear Welt. This means the upper and sole are sewn together, not merely glued like many footwear constructions. Yellow Z-welt stitch combines with the heat-sealing process to make this a unique Dr. Martens product.
The original Dr. Martens air-cushioned sole, providing underfoot comfort and durability since 1960. It is oil and fat resistant, tough and offers good abrasion and slip resistance.
Please note: Leather is a natural product with unique, character-rich qualities that differ from hide to hide. It's common to see inconsistencies in the colour and texture of this rich leather, so your boots may vary slightly from the product image shown on this page.
Care Instruction: Clean away dirt using a damp cloth, allow to dry and apply neutral wax polish or Dr Martens Wonder Balsam to provide water protection and natural colour restoration.
